1 Samuel 1:5
"But unto Han'nah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Han'nah: but he LORD had shut up her womb."
This scripture talks about how a man by the name of El'kanah who had two wives loved the one more than the other. The bible says, one wife name Penin'nah had children, but Han'nah had no children. Penin'nah provoked Han'nah, meaning she teased and made fun of Han'nah because she had children and Han'nah didn't. But the bible says, El'kanah loved Han'nah and gave her a worthy portion.
Let's get into the spirit concerning this matter and see what GOD is saying:
You see GOD has many daughters, all kinds and with all different backgrounds. But only some He has given the worthy portion to.
The bible says, "But unto Han'nah he gave a worthy portion..." What is that worthy portion? I'm glad you asked...the worthy portion is her destiny, in other words the will of GOD over her life. Penin'nah thought she was living in her destiny, having children. Just because some of GOD's daughters have already given birth doesn't mean it is according to the will of GOD. Yes it may look like she is doing great and mighty things, but looks can be decieving. Han'nah had the worthy portion... although she didn't give birth yet, she had destiny shut up inside her waiting for the right season of birth. We need to be careful when we allow our bodies to give birth.
Next the bible says, "for he loved Han'nah"...Han'nah was trusted to have the worthy portion because he loved her. For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in HIM shall not perish, but have eternal life. The key word here is, believe. You have to believe in order to be trusted with the worthy portion. Believe GOD for every part of your life. Believe even when you don't think it will work out, still Believe. It doesn't matter what the situation is...only BELIEVE! When you believe it brings change to the way you think, which in terms changes your heart and then is manifested by the way you act. If you believe, there should be a change in your walk and your talk. Things you use to do, you shouldn't be doing...only if you BELIEVE! Faith without works is dead....when you believe, it has to show forth in your works.
Then the bible says, "but the LORD had shut up her womb."
To many this may seem like a bad thing. But let me tell you it's not. The LORD shut up her womb even though she was carrying the worthy portion. GOD has an appointed time. And the longer we wait on HIM the powerful our portion is. Let me say that again....the longer we wait on HIM the powerful our portion is. In the shut up period (the wait period) this is when we get closer to GOD. Our faith is built up, our strength is renewed. This is when we get to know HIM for ourselves. For the word declares, "for they that wait on the LORD, they shall renew their strength, they shall mount up as wings on eagles, they shall walk and not be weary, they shall run and not faint." This is the period when you put on the whole armor of GOD, knowing what each piece is for and how to use it. The LORD shut up her womb....He cause nothing to be birthed out. It needed to be nurtured first. This was to prevent miscarrage or retardation. When GOD shut up something in us, we must BELIEVE it is for our good.
To be continued.....
GOD's Vessel,
Lady B
