GOOD MORNING GOWM!

Luke 22:41-44 (amplified)

41 And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw and knelt down and prayed,42 Saying, Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.43 And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven, strengthening Him in spirit.44 And being in an agony [of mind], He prayed [all the] more earnestly and intently, and His sweat became like great clots of blood dropping down upon the ground.

SURRENDER YOUR WILL TO GOD!

Many times we want to do our own thing or even do things we think is the will of God. We do things because it makes us feel good, look good, act good, speak good. “I’m going to put this on because I just feel so good (sexy) in it.” “I’ll say this instead of that because it sounds better.” “He makes me feel so good therefore He must be the one.” We say and do all things to make us feel good. We spend so much time satisfying the flesh and so little time doing what’s best for our spirit. Our own will is the most important, number one thing on our life agenda. Then we wonder why we aren’t where we are suppose to be and doing what we are destined to do. WE NEED TO SURRENDER OUR WILL TO GOD! Have you ever looked in the word of God to see if you should really be wearing those tight jeans, that low cut dress, that see through blouse? Many of us think it doesn’t mention anything in the word about these things. But when we study the word daily, meditating on it day and night, you will discover it really does talk about those things. I believe some of us are afraid to challenge themselves in the word because they don’t want to see that the way they are living is contrary to the word of God. We were all born with a sense of Godliness. How you ask, because although we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity, we were still made according to the image and likeness of God. It was the breath of God that gave us life from the very beginning. We cannot forget that. This is why the bible says we are in the world, but not of the world. So why do we try to be like the world with the way we dress, talk, act, and feel? I challenge you to surrender your will and pick up God’s will, after all Jesus did it. Do you think once Jesus came as a man here on earth, knowing what He was faced with, was it His will to suffer the cross and die? Looking at our scripture, NO! Jesus said Father please take this assignment from me, it hurts so bad! His flesh was tired of people thinking He was crazy, talking bad about Him, and just not feeling good. His mind started thinking about all the agony He was faced with and at that very moment He cried out to His Father. But then He surrendered His will to His Father. “Not my will but Yours be done.” And the Father sent an angel to go and strengthen Him in spirit. The more we allow our spirit to submit, the stronger we become. The bible says, His mind (his will) was in agony, but He allowed His Spirit to take charge and He prayed more earnestly and intently. Until His sweat became like great clots of blood. WOW! His mind (his will) was being crucified at that very moment. Jesus knew that in order for His body to be crucified on the cross, He had to deal with His mind (his will). Before we can see physical changes in our lives we must surrender our will to God!

NEVERTHELESS, NOT MY WILL, BUT THINE WILL BE DONE!

Always a blessing….Lady B
